HUNTING IN SLOVENIA
Exceptional nature experiences and exciting hunts
Slovenia is a very beautiful country that offers everything from large forests to steep mountains. The country contains unique nature, where you can hunt many different species of game. The country’s hunting traditions have deep roots in the past and the local hunters have hunted for generations. This also applies to our skilled guides, who have learned from their parents and grandparents.
In Slovenia, you really slow down, as the pace is somewhat slower than what we are used to at home. There is always time to talk and have a little something at the local inn. The locals are very keen on having a good time and their hospitality is certainly worth mentioning.
If you want to hunt in Slovenia, it is important to practice difficult shooting situations with your rifle. In the mountains, you can often encounter shots of up to 300m and when mountain hunting, it is important to get the shot when the chance is there. In the mountains, there is no guarantee that you will get two shooting chances. You must also be in reasonably good condition, as moving on the mountain requires endurance and strength. However, the professional hunter/guide will try to adapt the hunt to your pace, so it is possible for almost everyone to achieve success.
The hunt is approx. 45 min drive from Ljubljana. We advise our customers to drive to Slovenia rather than fly, as this is clearly the easiest when you need to bring weapons.
All B and H Jagtrejsers customers who have been hunting in Slovenia have returned home with many great experiences in their backpacks and not least beautiful trophies for the collection.
The oldest hunter we have had hunting in the Slovenian mountains is 75 years old and it was the trip of his life, so age is no obstacle, as long as there is a desire to hunt and a will.
We can warmly recommend hunting in Slovenia.

Mouflon hunting in the Slovenian forests
Hunting for the shy mouflon in the hilly Slovenian forest landscape is a very exciting form of hunting. The hunt places great demands on the hunter’s fitness, as you can experience having to walk many kilometers every day to find the mouflon. The mouflon are difficult to spot, so a good pair of binoculars is essential. Shooting ranges are rarely over 150 m, but the shots can still be difficult as it is mountain landscape you are hunting in.
A good trophy measures cm 60-70 cm and you can easily be lucky enough to find larger ones.
You will be accommodated in a cabin/apartment where you have the opportunity to cook your own food or you can go to the inn which is located nearby.
